Applying the Doctrine of Completed Staff Work COURSE DESCRIPTION: The Doctrine of Completed Staff
Work is a tool used to provide information to decision makers that will maximize
the value of employees to an organization. The
methods of completed staff work, which support problem solving and analytical
models, are employed to truly empower all members of an organization who
function in a staff role. COURSE OBJECTIVES: On completion of this course, participants are able to: · Define completed staff work. · Use completed staff work to effectively communicate a decision choice or a complete message. · Apply critical thinking and its characteristics to completed staff work. · Use the “Plan, Do, Check, Act” model in support of staff work. · Understand and use standard problem analysis tools to identify the root cause of a problem and to communicate it. ·

OUTLINE One
Day Course The focus of the one day course is on the core
values of the Doctrine of Completed Staff work and on learning how to apply it
through a directed case study. A
solution for this case study will be presented by the Instructor.
Two
Day Workshop In the two day course more emphasis is placed on
refining the techniques and on the final results of employing the Doctrine.
Students will leave with a draft action/briefing memo that can be brought
back to their supervisor to address a current real business issue using the
techniques employed and skills learned in the course.[1]
[1] Students will be asked to identify an actual situation requiring action to class for this purpose, or additional case studies will be provided. |
